The Custom Email I forgot to write about a major change with my email. Initially I found out about a feature in Cloudflare called Email Routing. It forwarded emails received from a custom email inbox to my Gmail address, so every time someone would send an email to personal@anirudhsevugan.me, I would receive the email in my regular inbox (with a bit of extra delay since there’s one extra step in receiving the mail).

Chat App If you don’t know, something called Cloudflare Workers exists. For those non-techies out there, it just does really cool stuff that can power things like chat apps. For those of you techies, it is a serverless tool filled with icing on top with its generous free plan, Durable Objects and SQL, framework support, and more. Durable Chat I took a Cloudflare Worker template and changed it up a bit to create the Durable Chat app!

Back before this blog existed, I had created a blog with Payload CMS via a Vercel template, before I moved my website to the new host and everything. But it was difficult to manage. The UI felt finicky to use and editing it wasn’t much better. That’s why I migrated to Hugo, because it is much simpler to manage, and a regular Next.js blog is too to be honest!

Developer Blog This isn’t just any blog! It’s a developer-focused blog of mine with coding articles and more! It was built with Next.js, and created from this template! You can visit it here! This blog was built with Hugo, as it’s more lightweight and simpler to manage!

Nine months of my website Since August 20th, 2024, I’ve had a personal website of my own. It has experienced various design changes, and overall evolved a lot! Then Now In 3 months, I’m going to be celebrating its 1-year anniversary! Thank you for all of your support, that has made my website last this long. :)

Website host change My main website at anirudhsevugan.me may not be working for a few hours. This is completely normal, and you’ll see why. I checked out several website hosting services, but Vercel seemed the best. It had the most performant CDNs, edge servers, and all compared to Netlify and GitHub Pages, which is why after a long time, I decided to make the switch. The website is still on the same GitHub repository (don’t worry), and it should perform better for a lot of people.

A Popularity Explosion! I created a YouTube channel in 2021. I posted several unlisted videos in the past while I was bored, as it killed time and served as a place for me to rewatch those moments. 4 years later, I began posting public videos just to get my things out there. I started with Sonic Robo Blast 2, a Sonic fangame that I played ever since I was just 6 years old.

The Custom Domain Up until early May of this year, my website didn’t have its own domain name. Its domain name was for the free hosting service Github Pages. My website’s domain was hard to remember, as it used to be a-star100.github.io. To try and fix this as a workaround, I used a personal organization I had created beforehand to make a new GitHub Pages site that redirected to the main one at anirudhsevugan.

I probably won’t be maintaining this much, but you’ll be able to find out about what I’m currently doing in tech here, and get sneak peeks of new things not anywhere else yet.
